Its purpose is to, collect data from all equipment (inverters, transformers, switchgear, meters, weather stations, etc.), display system status in real time for operators, control equipment remotely (switches, breakers, setpoints), log and analyse data for performance, alarms, and maintenance, interface with the grid operator and higher-level energy management systems.
Essentially, SCADA is the “brain and nervous system” of the solar farm.
